Main events are the Wanat Staff Ride, Sportsman Social and Luncheon.

Schedule subject to change.

Wanat Staff Ride provided by The Army University Press - Combat Studies Institute
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Baker Pattillo Student Center Theater
A staff ride is a historical study of a battle or campaign that provides a detailed analysis of the terrain and tactical lessons derived from the operation. This optional virtual staff ride allows the Combat Studies Institute to provide a virtual environment to replicate the terrain based off satellite imagery, providing a realistic vision of the battlefield. This annual cadet requirement is such a unique opportunity that SFA ROTC would like to open it up to both alumni and sister ROTC battalions within our footprint.
Please come join us in the unique opportunity to analyze the Battle of Wanat, located in the Waygal valley of Afghanistan and examine coalition Task Force 2d PLT, C CO, 2-503 Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade conducting COIN operations in 2007 through 2008.
For a sneak peek, please check out the staff ride trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xU3v8H2orwI
SFA Alumni Sportsman Social
5 to 8 p.m.
Meadow Ridge Archery & Gun Range, 1090 CR 231, Nacogdoches, Texas
Come out and join in the official start of the festivities at Meadow Ridge Archery and Gun Range! Reunite with friends, colleagues, veterans and ROTC alumni while enjoying appetizers, dessert, beverages, live music and balloon-pop archery with door prizes. Be sure to bring extra cash to shoot in-house weapons on Meadow Ridges’s eight-lane indoor range (cost for gun range separate from reunion price). Please wear closed-toe shoes. A portion of the proceeds benefits the SFA Department of Military Science.
