Dallas Chapter Events
Freshman Send-Off Party
August - Freshman Send-Off is an annual event hosted by the chapter to welcome local SFA freshmen and their parents into the SFA family. The event provides an opportunity for local students, parents and alumni to interact and form bonds that will last a lifetime. Incoming freshman who attend may enter into drawings for doorprizes and scholarships!
Sporting Events
The Chapter negotiates group pricing ticket specials to local sporting events such as the Mavericks, Rangers, Stars, etc for Alumni to use at their convenience. We also occasionally negotiate specific group outings.
Happy Hours
Happy Hours are held periodically and are "come and go” type events so feel free to drop in when it is convenient.
Networking Luncheons
Networking lunches are held periodically at different locations around Dallas. This is an excellent opportunity to build your network while reconnecting with old friends. Lunches begin at 11:30am, but feel free to drop in for whatever amount of time your schedule will allow.
Battle of the Pineywoods @ Reliant Stadium
October - The Battle of the Piney Woods is the second oldest NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) rivalry in Texas. The series began in 1923. Ticket prices range from $15 to $35 and only the lower bowl seating will be open. The SFA section is on the east side of the stadium.
Homecoming
October - Head back to the Piney Woods of East Texas and see how the university has grown and changed in the last few years or decades. There are numerous events planned throughout the weekend. The Alumni Association also accepts donations for the annual silent auction that is held during Lumberjack Bash. Proceeds from the event go to the SFA Scholarship Fund administered by the SFA Alumni Association. When you donate specify that a portion of the money raised by your item goes to the Dallas Chapter Scholarship!
College Fairs
Would you like to help recruit future Lumberjacks? There are several local college fairs in September that are so large in scale, it is helpful to have an alumni volunteer to assist the SFA Admissions Counselor. You will not be alone, nor will you be expected to answer detailed admissions questions. Volunteers will be sent a training packet to review before the event to help them update their SFA knowledge. If you would like to help, please contact the Dallas-Fort Worth Admissions Coordinator, Toni Chandler at
