Festivities
for the 83rd annual Homecoming activities for Stephen F. Austin
State University will be off to an exciting start Oct. 28.
Lumberjack Bash
begins at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Baker Pattillo Student Center on
the SFA campus. The reception, offering light hors d’oeuvres, will feature the
annual Silent Auction, announcement of the winner of the $10,000 Benefit
Drawing and special recognition of the Class of 1961 reunion attendees. The
Original Cast, SFA’s musical comedy cabaret troupe and the SFA Repertory Dance
Company will provide live entertainment after the auction. Admission to
Lumberjack Bash is free.
Those unable to attend the auction may stop by the SFA Alumni Association or call (936) 468-3407 or (800) 765-1534 to place bids on items. All off-site bids must be made by 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011. A list of auction items can be downloaded by clicking here.
"Lumberjack Bash
is a great start to Homecoming,” Jeff Davis, executive director of the SFA
Alumni Association said. "We invite everyone to stop by and enjoy the food and
entertainment. This year’s Silent Auction will offer participants a chance at
bidding on everything from jewelry to cross-country train rides. There will be
something for everyone.”
Funds
raised at the event will add to the SFA Alumni Foundation Scholarship Program,
which helps deserving students afford their SFA education.The SFA Alumni Association and
Foundation make an impact of more than $1.5 million in the way of scholarship
funding, public relations events and alumni programming each year for Stephen
F. Austin State University.
