Nacogdoches, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin State University Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for the 2011 Distinguished Professor, Distinguished Alumnus and Outstanding Young Alumnus awards.
The Distinguished Professor and Distinguished Alumnus awards were established in 1966. They honor a current SFA faculty member and an SFA graduate or former student, respectively, who have made significant contributions to society and whose accomplishments and careers have brought credit to the institution.
The Outstanding Young Alumnus Award was added in 1989 to honor the societal contributions, accomplishments and career of a more recent SFA graduate or former student.
Award recipients will be recognized during a presentation Friday, Nov. 11, on campus. Plaques will be presented to each winner and permanently displayed in the Tracie D. Pearman Alumni Center.
