Katy, a Nacogdoches native, joined the SFA Alumni Association in September of 2005. She and her husband Doug, a 2002 SFA graduate, and her beautiful daughters Claire and Chloe live north of town in Central Heights. Remember Shepherd's Restaurant? Katy's grandparents, Sam and Maurine Shepherd, are the former owners!
Here at the Alumni Association, Katy assists Jeff Davis, the Executive Director of Alumni Affairs and she serves as director of operations for the association. She is also the recording secretary for the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Working with prospective donors is another part of her job. Katy ensures the association runs smoothly by supervising both student and contractual staff members.
She thinks the best thing about her position is the people she meets each day. (With her bubbly personality, she never meets a stranger!) At home, she enjoys spending time with her family and keeping up with current events. When she gets the chance, she loves to go snow skiing.
