You're invited to welcome SFA to New Orleans! A group of 10 SFA students and their two advisors, Jamie Bouldin '05 and graduate assistant Randi Cooper, will spend their Spring Break March 15-19 performing community service in New Orleans. The SFA Alumni Association and Amy Landry '05, who works for the historic Roosevelt New Orleans hotel, have arranged a "mix & mingle" coffee event and hotel tour for the students and SFA alumni in New Orleans.
SFA alumni in the New Orleans area are encouraged to mark their calendars and welcome the students to the "Big Easy" at this dutch-treat coffee event.
7 p.m. Teddy's Cafe inside the
Roosevelt New Orleans 123 Baronne Street Alumni who plan to attend are encouraged to RSVP
by calling Landry at 504-335-3055 or via email. "We
thought it would be a great opportunity for our New Orleans alumni to
meet students from their alma mater who are spending their Spring Break
to benefit the New Orleans community,” Rhonda Minton ’90 & ’99,
director of marketing and membership for the SFA Alumni Association,
said. "When we found out what Jamie’s program was planning for Spring
Break, it seemed like a great opportunity to connect current students
with alumni. This is our first attempt at pairing an alumni event with
a student volunteerism event outside our local area, so we are looking
forward to its results.”
